Positively Flourishing
Helping you to increase resilience, create positive change and improve wellbeing
Low levels of wellbeing create a risk of anxiety and depression. Using resilience psychometrics alongside evidence based Positive Psychology interventions can increase wellbeing and prevent relapse.
Hello, I’m Janette Kirk-Willis. I’m a resilience specialist and a positive psychology coach.
I use a wide range of scientifically proven, evidence-based interventions to help you to create change and improve your wellbeing. I listen to and understand your current challenges and then work with you to explore and experiment with potential solutions.
My style is person centered, open and non-judgmental.
I coach in a face to face session, a walking session, on Skype or on facetime.
What is Positive Psychology?
Positive Psychology is the scientific study of what makes life most worth living. This field of psychology is founded on the belief that people want to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives, to cultivate what is best within themselves, and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play.
What is resilience and why is it important?
In a world of increasing demands and growing uncertainty, resilience has never been more important.
Our lives can unfold in unexpected ways, life can be uncertain and challenging at times. It’s vitally important that we develop the skills to successfully navigate life’s twists and turns. With resilience we can remain strong mentally, emotionally and physically. We can bounce back, stay strong and remain replenished.
Resilience is not a fixed characteristic (like personality) it’s something that you can learn and strengthen over time.
Resilience is a way of behaving and looking after ourselves, and it’s a skill that can be learned at any age. We can create conditions to ensure our own wellbeing, including managing our relationships, our mindset, our physiology and even finding purpose and meaning in our lives.
How I can help
Using the RQi psychometric tool developed at the University of Westminster, together we look at your current habits and coping strategies. Then, through coaching we develop an action plan to build your skills of resilience.
We use tools that help you to manage stress, anxiety and pressure in all aspects of your life helping you to remain resilient through difficult times.
RQi Psychometrics
RQi provides a detailed measure of resilience for individuals, teams and organisations. It measures beliefs and behaviours that are proven to protect people against stress and burnout. It provides a detailed measure of resilience across Six Elements and 26 sub-scales to raise self-awareness and stimulate change. It offers personalised advice and planning on how to build even greater resilience, including online guides and video clips.
RQi is supported by one- to-one coaching to promote adoption of new habits and long-term behavioural change.
Resilience through Organisational Change
Levels of Organisational change are almost constant as we keep up with the ever changing external environment. If we’re not careful our employees get ‘Change Fatigue’ with one organizational initiative following another. If organizational change isn’t handled well it can be a significant source of stress for employees. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have set standards for managing stress in the workplace. Using RQi we can equip individuals and teams with the tools to manage their own resilience through these changes and help them to manage stress more effectively and to overcome the ‘disruption’ that is now a constant in our organisations, thereby increasing their well-being.Personal Resilience for Individuals
Resilience is the ability to thrive, personally and professionally, even during times of high pressure, rapid change and adversity.Life often throws us a curve ball that we need a plan of action to deal with. The RQi goes beyond traditional psychometrics. It assesses lifestyle and environmental factors to provide a reliable test and plan for resilience.
We begin by measuring your current levels of resilience and then devising a bespoke strategy to improve the areas that you’d like to focus on. For example, emotional resilience, positive mindset, relationships, managing emotions and even rediscovering your purpose. Resulting in you having the tools to really thrive.
